DSC 7452How I love this time of year, when everything is fresh and green and the world seems full of potential and possibility. Seeing the little shoots push their way up through the earth, reaching toward the sun, I can feel my own spirit renewed, refreshed and reinvigorated. It’s the longing for growth…healing…wholeness…

There’s so much powerful energy moving right now, for each of us individually and for women all over the world. I’m delighted to know that women everywhere are gathering together as part of the Red Tent movement—sitting in sisterhood, speaking their truth in safe and sacred space and supporting each other in their journeys as women. I’m deeply moved by the international campaign, One Billion Rising, that is calling for an end to violence against women and girls; and the new October 11th United Nations International Day of the Girl, facilitating education for girls and women around the world.

I’m also heartened by the international growth of organizations like the ManKind Project, offering peer support and mentorship for compassionate, emotionally mature and accountable men; to walk in cooperation and solidarity with their sisters to co-create a better world for us all.

We’re part of a big and beautiful web around the world, my friend! Personally, I’m profoundly grateful to be weaving threads of the web with women from my home community here in the mountains of North Carolina. Next month, we’ll be gathering with a circle of sisters for the 15th Herbal Immersion week. And we’re also gearing up for the 10th Southeast Wise Women Herbal Conference in the autumn, anticipating that once again, over 1,000 women will gather together to celebrate, learn, and connect.

So many possibilities. So much potential. Come join us in this work. Come. Grow.
