We are delighted to introduce Rachel Bagby who will join us as one of our special guests at the Southeast Wise Woman Herbal Conference. Rachel helps individuals and communities turn stories into WISDOM and SONG, using the VOICE as an instrument of change.
She writes, "If I were to create a résumé, it would be scrawled on a piece of sheet music. With a big, swooping treble clef next to my name: Rachel Bagby, J.D. It would include a number of positions, titles & roles. Graduate of Stanford Law School. Poetic innovator & creator of Dekaaz Facilitation™. Meditation instructor at IMS, Spirit Rock, the Omega & the Garrison Institutes. Co-founder of Metanoiaa. International speaker & author of Divine Daughters: Liberating the Power and Passion of Women’s Voices. Soprano in Bobby McFerrin’s original international touring ensemble, Voicestra. Vibralinguist. Wall Street Journal reporter. Choral activist and composer."
As a powerful wise woman, she helps other women befriend their voice, allowing it to fill their lives. The voice, without worry of pitch, can open us to those deep and tender, fiercely irresistible and vibrant places within ourselves. It can free our hearts and amplify the healing and juicy creativity that flows within and without.
Connecting to the beauty of the voice is Rachel's gift. A gift for herself, for her sisters, and for a freer, more compassionate future. We are honored that she brings this gift to the Southeast Wise Women Herbal Conference.
Rachel will be presenting the intensive "Voice Blessings - Liberate and Reclaim Your Voice" on Saturday from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. (You must be registered in order to attend intensives). In addition to the intensive, Rachel will be teaching a class in the regular conference line up: "Dekaaz - The Poetry of Everyday Wisdom". And you will also find Rachel at the Connection Hour and the Closing Jam.
