Sally Fallon Morell
We are delighted to welcome Sally Fallon Morell, MA to the Southeast Wise Women Herbal Conference for the first time this year. Sally is a journalist, chef, nutrition researcher, homemaker, community activist, and the author of Nourishing Traditions: The Cookbook that Challenges Politically Correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrates. This unique cookbook informs the much-loved menus of both the Herbal Immersion and the Herbal Conference.
Sally Fallon Morell's role in the real food movement is pivotal. She stresses the importance of organic faming, pasture-fed livestock, and properly prepared, whole, traditional foods.
Sally is also the president of the Weston A. Price Foundation, an organization dedicated to real food. The Weston A. Price foundation helps individuals decipher the myths of our contemporary diets and provides a great resource for health questions via their website.
Conference particpants will have a few opportunities to learn from Sally. Her pre-conference intensive, Nourishing Traditional Diets - The Key to Vibrant Health, will be held Friday morning from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. Sally will also be teaching two classes in the regular conference line up; "The Ploy of Soy", and "The Oiling of America".
In her classes, Sally will highlight the healthy fats, properly prepared whole grains, enzyme-enriched foods and nourishing bone broths that kept our ancestors strong and healthy. Her classes begin with photographs of traditional peoples, and then explain the underlying elements in various traditional diets that support beauty, strength and freedom from disease. We will discover a step-by-step plan to bring nourishing traditional foods into our diets, learn about the foods that give limitless energy, and uncover the dangers and myths that promote unhealthy contemporary foods.
We are so excited to have Sally joining the conference this year and sharing her profound wisdom with the web of women.
